Product photography is an exciting and fascinating area of photography. It requires developing concepts and using creative problem solving techniques to properly show off the characteristics of the subject. To properly illustrate an object, the photographer must concentrate on shape, form, color, texture and composition, each aspect needing attention to detail. This workshop will demonstrate how to make the decision and then use the proper techniques to show the uniqueness of the product.
The morning will consist of lighting demonstrations of the basics, how to light round, square, glass and reflective, all interesting challenges! The afternoon will consist of shooting a variety of objects, both simple and conceptual. The participants will work with both the studio strobes and their own portable flash equipment. It`s a fun class, that will lead to visual and creative discoveries!
Who Should Attend
You are a very confident user of priority shooting modes and may even been using full manual exposure control.
You are familiar with simple lighting set ups and have had some hands on time with lighting equipment. You understand and can set up the different triggering systems.
You are aiming to consolidate your understanding and improve basic techniques as well as be introduced to some new ideas and techniques that will give you the confidence to experiment with different creative outcomes.

What you should bring
* Your DSLR.
* Lenses: Medium telephoto lens or zoom that includes medium telephoto (85mm to 120mm range); A macro lens is preferred. Extension tubes can also be very useful if you do not have macro lenses. Check them out here for Canons and here for Nikons.

* Small object to photograph like fruit, flowers, art objects, glass, metallic surface etc.
