Description

Join 20+ year editorial photographer David Hobby for a two-day portrait photography workshop on location. You'll start the first day learning how to build rapport with your subjects and how to use natural and artificial light to create dynamic portraits. You'll learn how to create a professional-quality location portrait in nearly any environment.

For the remainder of the session, the class will split into groups for extended shooting sessions. As part of a three-person team, you'll rotate between the roles of photographer, grip and subject -- the last experience designed to help you better relate to your own subjects.

Each shooting session will be followed by classroom editing and critiques to help you refine your techniques.

What you should bring

Your lighting gear -- light stands, flashes, umbrellas, etc., are all welcome and will be used. Additional lighting gear will be provided to help you grow.
