Description

This 8 hour course is an introductory course to digital photography. The course assumes little or no prior knowledge of your camera or photo composition. The aim of the course is to get beginner photographers comfortable with the  camera and its most useful functions, arm you with essential photographic and digital terminology and give you basic tips and rules for creating more compelling photos.

The content of the course is based on the features and knowledge required for Digital SLR (DSLR) cameras, it is not suitable for the digital 'point & shoot' cameras.

What Is Covered:
At the end of this course we aim to have you taking photos in semi-manual modes, controlling your depth of field and shutter speed.
You will learn all about pixels, resolution, digital and optical zoom, ISO, white balance, focus lock, exposure compensation and be introduced to the uses of different lenses.

A significant amount of time will be spent ensuring that you understand the grass roots of photography–creative exposure and depth of field and how these relate to the program modes on your camera.

The essentials of better composition will also be explored and you will learn how to review your work with a critical eye and improve your shots through simple basic composition rules and using natural light effectively.

What to bring with you:

Bring your camera (battery fully charged), your camera manual, 3 of your favourite photos printed as large as possible for easy sharing and getting feedback from the instructor and an empty memory card (with an identifying mark)

CANCELLATION POLICY: 7 days before class start full refund less 10% admin fee or reschedule to another date. 3 days before, no refund but can reschedule to another date. Less than 3 days before - no refund and no reschedule possible. Workshops can be rescheduled within 3 months of the original booking. Bookings can be transferred once only. Transferred bookings will not be refunded if later cancelled.
